    1. True. comissioned by Marcus Agrippa: Augustus’ childhood friend, later second in command and funnily enough, son-in-law.

    2. It does not matter who comissioned it and where it’s situated. The fact is Pantheon is a Greek word meaning “all gods”. The architect was propably Greek. Rome is irrelevant because it worshipped the Greek civilization to such a degree as to admit that Rome had nothing more to offer, which of course it didn’t (except law codification and public works projects). All science is Greek, all mathematics are Greek. Rome had an inferiority complex towards Greece and still does.

    3. You sound just like the grandfather from My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Also your logic is very flawed, basically what you said was “because they named it the pantheon it’s greek”. With that logic, every skyscraper is a american, every amphtheatre is greek, and every pyramid is Egyptian.

  1. Chef John,
Do you time these meals so you and whoever can eat it right after, or do you time it for lighting and just eat some and reheat it later?

  2. Why I am watching this when I am starving at 4am and there is nothing to eat!???

    1. Because you spent all night cooking this guy’s recipes, passed out from exhaustion and awoke to an empty stomach and nothing but a sprinkle of cayenne to your name.

    1. I don’t know where you get yours, maybe some kind of grass fed, free range organic or something, but mine in a regular supermarket are normally $2.49/lb, sometimes $1.99/lb. Whole chickens are normally $1.29-$1.59/lb, except when they are on sale for $0.99/lb

  3. Greek cuisine is really humble. I am a big fan. If you can use just a few species and still make the dish flavorful thats amazing

  4. Whenever I make roast chicken ,I caramelise some sliced onions and add ( cooked )rice and then add the pan juices of the roasted chicken to the rice and just mix everything with a little bit of fresh herbs and serve it.

  5. So delicious looking! Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe! I am so making this this weekend! πŸ™‚

  6. Thanks for this! I’m a no oil, whole food vegan and makeΒ this recipe with potatoes alone, but I really appreciated the suggestion of adding cayenne and rosemary. Looking forward to trying it tonight!!

  7. if youre not getting salmonella from this it’s not a true Greek experience

  8. ” they make it once a week for the rest of their lives ” πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
